Blackberry from Research In Motion is not for everyone who needs the phone, but more can be utilized by individuals who are mobile, where the need for email and chat is a priority of needs.
Each unit has a
Blackberry PIN number which the PIN will be used to register our handsets that RIM email server on the server can push, also in drag to / from the server at RIM and send it to our service which we subscribe to BIS. The operator then going to push email to the handset like SMS us as.
In addition, the PIN number is also used to communicate (chat) between the members of Blackberry users around the world without any additional charges as long as we have subscribed to the service BIS.
Screen
In terms of screen and the sharpness of the image, Blackberry Bold has a remarkable quality sharp and bright, may the best in class said, but in terms of camera she has a 2 mega pixels, a little bit less sharp if we compare with the quality of Apple's iPhone,
Blackberry camera in below expectations, although I've equipped with a flash.
Keyboard
After using a Palm Treo 650 a few years, I feel something is missing if you do not have a handset with a QWERTY keyboard (Blackberry Bold has another type with the keyboard QWERZ), and the keyboard is very soft and comfortable on the press in comparison with the Palm Treo is a little harder.
Operating System
Operating System of these units, if I score, is still relatively young, and very often we will meet to update the update of this unit, and until this writing, there is Memory leak which after use for some time, then our memory will continue to decline and make our handsets to be slow (lag), it is a trick by pressing the right ALT + SHIFT + DEL or by depriving our battery or popular term BP (Battery Pull). But because this handset is equipped with 624 Mhz processor, the fastest for the smartphone class, then we do not need to be concerned about this.
Sound Quality
The sound quality is very good and clear, unlike other handset handset. If I compare it with the Palm Treo 650, then the value was 9: 4 to victory Bold.
Signal Quality
This is a handset with the best signal reception in its class. If we compare with other handsets (like the Treo 650 and Nokia E71 even the iPhone), Bold very strong signal and provide a clear voice with a weak signal though.
Hardware
Physical hardware quality, very solid. Only a shortage in some parts like the screen scratch easily and the barrier screen with a plastic keyboard that feels less solid. Other than that, Bold has a quality above my expectations.
3G Speed
3G speed on the Blackberry BIS service is not as fast as what we imagine, because with the BIS service and APN settings: blackberry.net (dataplan operator), then all data to the internet will go through BIS network which will pass through RIM's servers. RIM servers will pull the data we need from the other server, and compress it (if we had set for mengkompressnya), and then sent to the operator and to our handset.
Another case if we use the APN: internet (outside dataplan operator), then we do not pass the handset RIM's servers and will be faster.
If you have a hotspot at the office or at home, test proved that with WI-FI network, faster connections.
Syncing
Syncing with the Mac does not sync with your PC as well, because the Desktop Manager is currently no version for Mac, that there is a Pocket Mac which I think still needs further improvement, much better Missing Sync for Blackberry, but this MissingSync for Blackberry can not be done with bluetooth.
Syncing can be done Over The Air with Google.
Syncing process either with a Mac or Over The Air with
Google, has several problems. If we have an address book with multiple number to a mobile phone, then that will be recorded on the handset is the last mobile phone number. And Blackberry only 1 field for mobilephone number, and this is not good in my opinion, considering the target market of the Blackberry Bold is the professional who requires high mobile connectivity.
Pro:
Completeness of features, GPS, 3G, EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth,
Camera Flash, Email (King of email & chat device), great screen, good battery life compared to other
smartphones with the facilities on the same switch.
Cons:
No touch screen, memory leak, which must have cost dataplan quite expensive, 3G speed does not reflect the 3G for browsing / connectivity to servers located in Canada, especially IIX network.
This handset is the recommended for the highly mobile professional, and who need email, chat, news updates as a top priority
