The response was overwhelming with suggestions ranging from hangover remedies to toilet solutions. Below is a selection of some of the best:

4. Blag your way back stage - @rossalloyd blag ur way backstage app! Reason why security should let u in 2 VIP bar! E.g. I am Stevie Wonder’s Somerset cousin
5. Live from backstage - @i_am_joecool an app that has live webcam broadcasts from backstage to see artists before and after they perform
6. Random band generator - @pilki42 shake your phone to suggest a random band playing now and directions to the stage
7. Lovestruck – @chloehaybags thelondonpaper ‘Lovestruck’ style app to find the hot girl/guy you’ve spotted…spread the love at Glasto
8. I’m in the band man! – @carlmartin – App allows u 2 take photos with yourself superimposed with your fave band to share + trick your friends
9. The festival hangover remedy suggestions generator - @milamputechture ‘The Festival Hangover Remedy Suggestion Generator’ (All suggestions being different alcoholic beverages)
10. Glastonbury rumour destroyer – @B1TTY Glastonbury Rumour Destroyer! Glasto-goers use the app and it’ll list the current rumours true or false
The overall winning app concept was for ‘Augmented reality gigs in your tent’, a service perfect for music lovers who are simply too tired or hungover to get out of their sleeping bags. The app would use augmented reality technology to layer a computer-generated movie of your favourite band over the inside of your tent – giving the impression that they’re right there next to you. Winner @carlmartin received a pair of tickets for the Glastonbury Festival.
Orange are the Official Communications Partner for Glastonbury Festival, 2010 sees the return of the bespoke Glastonbury Festival app GlastoNav, which will be launching in June.
