The National Business Awards now open to entries Tweet

For the past nine years, the National Business Awards has uncovered hundreds of examples of business leaders and entrepreneurs who have taken a unique approach to overcome major challenges and achieve success, whilst maintaining the respect of their peers, co-workers and employees.

The Awards have seen titans like Pearson taking on Kingfisher for the prestigious Orange Leader of the Year accolade, Gü chocolate puds battle it out with innocent drinks and Admiral Insurance take on moneysupermarket.com to name a few. Typically all entrants have one thing in common, they’re determined to reward their employees for their outstanding work and the National Business Awards does exactly that.

"It has been a tough couple of years for business but despite that we have seen real innovation enabling new ways of achieving success. Entering The National Business Awards is a great way to highlight that success whilst ensuring customers and employees recognise the strength of the finalists and winning organisations", said Martin Stiven, Vice President of Business at Orange, the headline partner for the Awards.

New to 2010 is the charity partnership with the National Enterprise Academy founded by Peter Jones to educate and support Britain’s 16 to 19 year old budding entrepreneurs. The National Business Awards hope to raise enough funds to enrol 10 students at the National Enterprise Academy in 2011.

“The National Enterprise Academy is delighted to be the chosen charity of the National Business Awards. Winning a National Business Award has become a symbol of business excellence and an accolade National Enterprise Academy students will aspire to win once they are putting into practice their newly acquired skills”, Peter Jones, Founder of the National Enterprise Academy said.

The Awards are also launching a series of Business Growth Summits to better engage with public and private sector businesses across the UK. The five Business Growth Summits will take place in Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, London and Birmingham from March - June 2010. The events are free to attend and will examine the main challenges facing business leaders on a local and global scale in the year ahead.

Peter Marks, CEO, The Co-operative Group and winner of the Orange Leader of the Year Award, is confirmed as keynote speaker at the inaugural event in Manchester on the 9th March. John Stapleton, the television presenter has been lined up as host.
