NEW YORK -- Global public relations leader Porter Novelli announced that Randolph Pitzer has joined the agency as managing director of its Chicago office.
With more than 25 years of experience, Pitzer boasts a strong background in public relations, communications and marketing for both clients and agencies. He joins Porter Novelli from Edelman, where he spent the past eight-and-a-half years as EVP and general manager in the Chicago office's corporate practice, focusing on technology and business-to-business accounts. While at Edelman he worked on clients including A.T. Kearney, Motorola and Qwest Communications (both enterprise and consumer) among others. His agency career also has included tenures at both Ketchum and Ogilvy PR.
On the corporate side, Pitzer has served in a variety of marketing and communications roles for such organizations as Mercantec, Inc., an e-commerce applications software developer; Spyglass, Inc., an Internet software provider; and SPSS, Inc., a business intelligence software supplier.

Pitzer will report to Anthony Viceroy, Porter Novelli's president.

Pitzer earned a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Business Marketing Association (BMA). He serves on the board of the Chicago BMA.
