Taiwan market: TWM opens online application store Tweet

Taiwan Mobile (TWM), a 3G mobile telecom carrier in Taiwan, on April 26 launched match Market, its online store of Chinese-language application programs, with 120 applications available for download initially, according to the company.

TWM said match Market currently supports Android, iPhone OS and Windows Mobile 6.5 or above, and will additionally support BlackBerry OS in May 2010.

With smartphone sales in Taiwan in 2010 expected to exceed one million units, demand for applications catering to the local market is rising, TWM indicated. With match Market, TWM said it expects its value-added revenues in 2010 to increase by 20% from 2009.
