With both of their upcoming Droid devices leaking left and right for the last several weeks it was only a matter of time until we finally saw something official from Verizon or Motorola and here it is.
The invite above went out today notifying the press of an event in New York on June 23rd which will hopefully put to rest all rumor and speculation regarding both the Droid X and the Droid 2.
The invite doesn’t offer up any specifics regarding the handsets to be announced, but of note is the presence of Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe, on the speakers list. This gives at the very least a glimmer of hope that Motorola has managed to get Flash 10.1 and thus Android 2.2 on one or both of the new Droids in time for launch.
Here’s hoping this also means the launch date for one or both of these devices is imminent, but we could still be in for a month of impatiently waiting for our shiny new toys even after this announcement.
