HealthEx Teams Up with AT&T for Mobile Delivery Tracking and Management

Thursday, May 6, 2010

HealthEx, a specialist courier for healthcare companies, is working with AT&T* to help manage shipments and deliveries for HealthEx customers in select cities around the country. Under a new two-year contract, HealthEx will implement an “e-Courier” application on more than 200 AT&T devices to help field teams locate, track and confirm deliveries while on the go.

HealthEx will use a variety of AT&T’s rugged devices to run its third-party “e-Courier” application, which supports mobile management of all incoming and outbound shipments to healthcare facilities in New York City, Chicago, and other select cities within New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. By using this application, field delivery teams have the ability to manage, track and confirm shipments from virtually any location via their mobile device. At the time of shipment delivery, field reps are also able to use AT&T devices to timestamp the date, time and GPS location to confirm receipt, which is quickly logged into HealthEx’s system via AT&T’s 3G network.

ldquo; The ability to easily track and manage our deliveries while on the move is an essential part of our business, as it ensures we know the location and status of each shipment at all times and can meet our customer’s delivery expectations,” said Michael Montemarano, vice president of HealthEx. “AT&T’s reliable network and wide selection of devices allowed us to take mobile delivery management to a new level, and we look forward to working with AT&T as we continue to expand our services into more cities around the country.”

Previously, HealthEx’s “e-Courier” application was only compatible with larger computer-like devices. AT&T was able to offer simple, rugged devices that reduce device size and weight without compromising durability. HealthEx will also now benefit from accelerated data transfer by using AT&T’s 3G network, the fastest in the nation.
