Sprint Brings 4G Power to Small Businesses in Tailored, Value-Priced Packages

Thursday, May 13, 2010

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --Up to 10 times faster than 3G* - a speed at which most harried small businesses only wish they could operate. Short-staffed with increasing market demands and rivals sniping for their customers, small business owners value mobile communications speed as much as location and good word of mouth.

Sprint (NYSE:S), the first national carrier with a commercially available wireless 4G network, makes speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G a possibility for small businesses. E-mails arrive quicker, files download sooner, multiple applications stream smoother without snarling PCs, Web-browsing comes blazing fast - even videoconferencing and video streaming occur without lags and glitches.

Just as important as speed, Sprint 4G is practical, priced to buy in bundles of data to fit different small businesses needs. Today, Sprint announced 4G Mobile Broadband Connection plans tailored to small businesses - with one to five employees and more than six employees - starting at $44.99 per month, excluding taxes and Sprint surcharges (see the full lineup of plans and prices for small businesses in links at the end of this news release).

"Sprint 4G is about offering high speed and high capacity at a low cost - especially to small businesses on a budget," said Tom Shaughnessy, director-Small Business. "Sprint's 3G and 3G/4G data plans are priced with value in mind - so 4G customers get the data capacity they need at a price that works."

The availability of Sprint 4G, now in 32 markets, delivers next-generation wireless services to small businesses across the country. By the end of the year, 4G is expected to cover a population of 120 million in the United States. Sprint and its 4G partner Clearwire still expect to roll out 4G coverage this year in Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

"Small businesses have sophisticated needs - the same as businesses 10 times their size," said Shaughnessy. "Our small business customers tell us that embracing technology is a dollars-and-cents decision. It's all about working faster, boosting productivity, cutting costs, and, ultimately, improving profits. For small businesses, 4G makes sense."

This summer, small businesses can buy the award-winning and critically acclaimed HTC EVO(TM) 4G. The device offers an unparalleled experience on 3G and 4G. With a combination of a 4.3-inch screen, built-in kickstand, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android(TM) 2.1 and the hallmark HTC Sense experience, HTC EVO 4G has been named among the best handsets in 2010.
