As Glastonbury’s Official Communications Partner, Orange continues its celebration of the festival’s 40th anniversary by attempting to set a Guinness World Record™ during England’s World Cup match against Slovenia.
Glastonbury organisers have ensured festival-goers needn’t miss out on the World Cup and are screening the match live from the Pyramid stage on Wednesday 23rd June at 3pm to a potential audience of 60,000. Orange recognises that this momentous occasion needs to be recorded and have decided to create a 1300 Megapixel image from a series of high-resolution photographs of the crowd during half-time. Beatboxer Killa Kela will introduce the photos.
Standing in front of the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury’s 40th Anniversary, watching England play in the World Cup is a magical moment in time you and your mates won’t want to forget. Helping people to say “we were there”, Orange will upload the photo to www.orange.co.uk/glastonbury after the festival. With functionality that will allow users to zoom in, out and around the image with a full 180 degree view, you will even be able to spot people at the back of the field up to 300m away. Once the festival-goers have found themselves and their friends, they can then connect to Facebook and ‘tag’ the photograph with their names using Facebook Open Graph. Full details will be available on the website and you will be able to find out last minute information on-site in the Orange Chill ‘n’ Charge tent from 2.30pm.
This is not only an opportunity for Glastonbury festival-goers to record their participation in this landmark event, but also to be part of a world record attempt as Guinness World Records™ have officially acknowledged this as an attempt to set the world record for the Most People Tagged in an Online Photo.
