Friday, June 11, 2010

New product portfolio unveiled at InfoComm 2010 makes it easier for channel markets to drive business and engage audiences.

LAS VEGAS -- Led by its "SignNET" turnkey digital signage package and new videoconferencing systems, LG Electronics is showcasing how it is easier than ever to deploy digital advertising and create digital classrooms at InfoComm 2010 (booth C5624).

This week, LG Business Solutions is highlighting its newest product, SignNET, which simplifies digital signage by integrating all the components necessary to install and operate a digital sign. By integrating hardware, software and services LG is helping to eliminate the complexities of deploying small digital signage networks. SignNET was specifically designed for small to medium businesses (SMBs) seeking a simple and dynamic approach to communicate with their customers and to promote their goods and services in a compelling and differentiated way.

LG's two new videoconferencing system products (models AVS4200 and RVF1000) which allow for live video discussions, as well as 3D projectors, 3D HDTVs, network monitors and electronic whiteboard digital signage solutions are also on display.

"LG continues to focus on creating simple and compelling solutions for a variety of business markets," said Jeff Dowell, vice president of digital signage, LG Electronics USA Business Solutions. "The introduction of new products like SignNET, videoconferencing systems, and network monitors are a testament to LG's ability to understand and design innovative business solutions for all channel markets that are simple to operate and help achieve broader business objectives."

Hospitality

For hoteliers and restaurant owners, LG offers a simple way to enhance the customer experience through an array of digital signage products for high-traffic spaces, such as the lobby and digital menu boards. For these installations, LG offers a variety of signage offerings including its M4224C-BA. A Full 1080p HD picture and an improved high brightness level of 700 cd/m2 pack a solid punch for crisp, clear picture quality. This model also features LAN control, so content can be changed or updated from a remote location, making usage convenient and simple. Additionally, this 42-inch class* monitor features an ultra thin narrow bezel of just .67-inches which allows it to fit effortlessly in almost any environment.

LG's 2 x 2 matrix 60-inch class* plasma is versatile enough for large-scale installations in a hospitality setting, shopping mall, exhibit, or public transportation venue for information sharing, advertising or broadcasting the latest sports game. Four 60-inch class plasmas create a virtually seamless 120-inch class plasma screen displaying content in Full HD 1080p and boasting a 4mm seam size, so viewers can see more of the images on the screen. Its 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, Full HD resolution and a brightness level of 1,500 cd/m2 ensure viewers enjoy a more detail-rich content viewing experience.

Another signage solution for large installations is the 65-inch class* Full HD 1080p model M6503CCBA. Incorporating a crisp resolution with high contrast ratio and brightness, it offers a beautiful picture on the big screen. From bus terminals to hotel registration desks, this monitor makes information sharing easier than ever with the ability to place it in a 5 x 5 video wall matrix that automatically adjusts itself for bezel width to help provide a more seamless picture. Three power saving levels allow for the integrator to customize energy output.

Corporate

To increase the efficiency and ease of updating digital signage content, LG created SignNET. This turnkey solution provides templates, content and services making it simple and easy to deploy digital signage in any environment. (See separate news release.)

LG now offers corporate environments unparalleled resources for conducting day-to-day business with user-friendly videoconferencing products. With LG's executive conferencing system, which includes an all-in-one desktop and portable room type products, corporate businesses can now hold face-to-face meetings from anywhere in the world as long as they have an Internet connection. Additional solutions on display this week include LG's projectors which offer professionals portable tools that provide brighter, crisper, clearer pictures for professional and quality presentations. LG's LED HX300G projector weighs less than two pounds, and is ultra mobile – perfect for business trips. Users can create a truly personalized presentation experience with this model using the USB interface on the projector to play DivX, MP3 and jpeg files. This model is long-lasting and more energy efficient as it uses LED lighting, which in addition to a great picture, helps provide a lamp life of up to 30,000 hours, while standard projectors average closer to 4,000. This increase in lamp life decreases the need for replacement lamps, an energy efficient perk supplemented by lamps that do not use mercury.

LG's first-ever 3D capable projector (model CF3D) offers a fully interactive and immersive viewing experience. With Full HD and an amazing brightness rating of 2,500 ANSI-lumens this projector can create an interactive movie watching experience or enhance a formal business presentation. With a high contrast ratio of 7,000:1 and TruMotion 120Hz for smoother images this projector provides picture quality like that of flat panel HDTV. Incorporating both Dual Engine and 3D Auto Picture Calibration technology, the CF3D offers superb color correction to help ensure images are displayed naturally.

Education

LG's newest educational products provide administrators with cost effective and innovative technology that will enhance their students' learning experience. Building on its popular Network Monitor solution, LG introduced the new N+ monitor system. With the help of desktop virtualization software a single computer can support up to 31 monitors** – allowing for broader deployment of digital classrooms and teaching labs. This technology also saves on energy costs generated by additional PCs, while reducing noise and generating less heat. With fewer PCs, this solution also saves users in maintenance and IT support. These monitors now support the use of network cables, offering true networking capabilities. Additionally, users without advanced PC knowledge are able to set up and maintain for further convenience.

LG is also highlighting its electronic whiteboard touch screen technology this week which provides education professionals a new hands-on way to reach students. A 65-inch class* plasma, the electronic whiteboard incorporates a sensor that supports camera image reading technology, which senses touch and displays the handwriting on the computer screen. Touch/handwriting is available by various means, including fingers, pens or other hard tools with a response time of under 8 ms. The LG interactive whiteboard system allows teachers or presenters to select and display PC, video, and EBS content for students while writing or marking the material displayed on the screen.

Partner Program

Expanding its commercial offerings to further grow digital signage, display and videoconferencing deployments, LG is unveiling its new Partner Program. Available through an online portal starting on July 1, LG will encourage enhanced customer loyalty by providing quick and easy access to technical and sales support, turn-key solutions, SPIFF incentives and promotions, demo programs, and product launches and Campaigns.
