Taiwan market: Garmin launches connected PND device with 1-year free subscription Tweet

PND vendor Garmin has launched a connected PND, the nuvi 1690, in the Taiwan market in cooperation with telecom service provider Taiwan Mobile (TWM).

Internet service subscription for the nuvi 1690 is free for the first year and NT$65 (US$2) per month beginning in the second year. Suggested retail price for the new connected PND is NT$9,990.

Garmin has already introduced connected PND in Europe and the US. Taiwan, China and Singapore will be the company's first markets in Asia, according to the company, noting that it has no plans to launch devices under NT$5,000.
