The acquisition of Embedded Alley one year ago, followed by the alliance between Freescale Semiconductor and Mentor Graphics, and a similar alliance with NetLogic Microsystems over two months ago, has resulted in the release of Mentor Embedded’s first commercial Linux® platform, Mentor Embedded™ Linux.
The release, initially supporting Freescale’s QorIQ and PowerQUICC Power Architecture processors, is a highly streamlined and fully integrated platform that assists development teams as they move seamlessly from evaluation on reference boards to development on custom-designed hardware.
Mentor Embedded Linux offers new opportunities for customers to develop more customized applications, fully compatible with open source packages, with no vendor lock-in and greater reliability while accelerating overall design development time.
