Apple will start shipping the 3G version of its iPad to the UK in late April, with the wi-fi version launched in March.
The manufacturer revealed the dates on its website. It has not announced pricing, although in the US, the 3G version is available for around £500.
Apple is understood to be in talks with the operators about ranging the device, with O2 and Orange thought to be likely frontrunners.
The iPad has a 10-inch touch-screen, no keyboard and will allow users to surf the web, watch TV programmes and read digitised magazines and newspapers.
Apple has also launched an ebook store – the iBookstore – in a bid to take on Amazon and Sony by allowing ebook downloads to the device.
