SAN FRANCISCO -- Interop® announced four out of five business technology buyers who attended Interop Las Vegas 2009 made purchases within six months of attending, according to a recent survey. The survey also reveals that 95% of Interop attendees are involved in the IT purchasing process at their company, further demonstrating Interop's position as the chosen platform for active buyers to make purchasing decisions. The Interop survey polled nearly 200 Interop 2009 attendees via email and found the following top line results:
* Over 80% purchased IT products and services within six months after attending Interop Las Vegas 2009 (event dates were May 18-22)
* The average amount spent after attending Interop Las Vegas 2009 was $745,677 - up from $671,487 in the six months following Interop Las Vegas 2008
* 95% of Interop attendees play a role in purchasing IT products and services
* 85% of Interop attendees have direct involvement with IT vendors
* 85% of Interop attendees' 2010 IT budgets will increase or remain flat compared with 2009; 43% are forecasting an increase
* Over 50% of Interop attendees discovered a new vendor for consideration
