The announcement is another Android milestone for T-Mobile which launched the first ever Android-powered smartphone, the T-Mobile G1, in October 2008. Android Market is the world’s fastest growing applications store, with over 20,000 apps, games and services available for users to download directly to their phone “ 65% of which are free. Market intelligence provider IDC predicts that 50,000 to 75,000 applications will be available on the Android Marketplace by the end of the year, giving users even more choice**.
Nicola Shenton, Head of Handset and Device Marketing, T-Mobile UK said: We want to make sure all our customers get the chance to experience Android, which is why we’re expanding our family of Android devices.
