SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Ruckus Wireless™ will host a free webinar on Wednesday entitled "Avoiding RF Interference," in which its expert team of radio frequency (RF) engineers will discuss the causes of 802.11 Wi-Fi interference, and advanced technologies and techniques for mitigating interference.
The webinar features Ruckus co-founders and "Smart Wi-Fi" innovators Bill Kish and Victor Shtrom, as well as G.T. Hill, Ruckus Director of Field Systems Engineering. The webinar will take place at 10:00 a.m. PST / 1:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.
The free webinar will offer an overview of the unlicensed 802.11n band, and discuss the causes and impact of 802.11 interference on network performance and typical behavior of 802.11 devices when interference is experienced. Additionally, the discussion will compare and contrast conventional techniques to deal with co-channel interference and offer alternative approaches to mitigating interference, such as the use of patented dynamic beamforming and adaptive interference mitigation (AIM) technology that automatically forms and directs Wi-Fi transmissions away from interference sources and over the best available signal path in real time.
"Often, the biggest source of interference for enterprise wireless LANs is the company's own Wi-Fi networks," said Hill. "Given the rise of enterprise mobility and growing percentage of the workforce using Wi-Fi enabled smart phones and other devices, appropriately dealing with Wi-Fi interference is a top priority for IT managers and CIOs. We aim to help them understand this critical issue in our webinar."
