ORANGEBURG, NY — Verizon Wireless and some of Latin America’s greatest soccer legends are joining forces for their fifth annual youth soccer clinic series in 19 U.S. cities, including New York on Sunday, May 30th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Field Eight in Queens.
Free registration will take place on May 22nd and 23rd at two Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in Queens:
Saturday, May 22
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Verizon Wireless Communications Store at Queens Center Mall
90-15 Queens Blvd, Elmhurst, Queens
Sunday, May 23
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Astoria
31-25 Steinway Street, Astoria, Queens
Registration is limited and open to players 5 to 17 years old. The first 100 to register at each store will receive a free soccer ball the day of the clinic.
About the clinic
Leading the clinics and overseeing a staff of coaches from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and local leagues will be retired American pro “Soccer” Tom Mulroy and Colombian soccer star Carlos “el Pibe” Valderrama. The three-hour clinics will include ball gymnastics, warm ups, ball control, overall soccer skills, and small-sided games. Each participating youth will receive an official soccer jersey, sports sack, baseball cap and certificate of completion.
