Leading IT Distributor Recognizes IT Vendors with Best-in-Class Logistics Performance.

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor, announced its 2009 Supply Chain Awards of Excellence for North American technology vendors with outstanding or improved operations.

Fifteen IT vendors rose to the top in this second annual recognition of U.S. and Canadian companies who out-performed their peers in three distinct categories, including Best in Class Logistics, Outstanding Overall Supply Chain Improvement and Outstanding Performance in Damage Reduction. In selecting the winners, Ingram Micro established a baseline for each vendor and then tracked and benchmarked performance throughout the year.

"Ingram Micro is focused on operating its supply chain responsibly, with as little waste as possible, keeping cost and quality at the forefront," said Keith Bradley, senior executive vice president and president Ingram Micro North America. "We are pleased to recognize our IT vendor partners who work to achieve similar results and keep focus on excellence in all areas of their operational performance."

The winners of the 2009 Supply Chain Awards of Excellence are:

Best in Class Logistics Performance

The Best in Class Logistics category awards IT vendor partners who have been the most efficient suppliers to Ingram Micro. They operate with minimal issues despite large volume shipments and ship on-time and damage free, via the correct modes of transport, with high quality workmanship, utilizing timely data and accurate documentation.

* U.S. – American Power Conversion (APC)
* Canada – Canon

Outstanding Overall Supply Chain Improvement

Those IT vendor partners that have significantly improved damage-in-transit metrics and routing guide compliance are recognized in this category. These winners also demonstrate their focus on improving available inventory while reducing receiving labor expense, freight costs, and reverse logistics costs.

* U.S. – Panasonic, Startech.com, Polycom
* Canada – American Power Conversion (APC), Antec, D-Link

Outstanding Performance in Damage Reduction

By measurably reducing waste in the supply chain, these vendor partners have achieved significant results in damage-in-transit reduction, either through improved packaging engineering standards, enhanced quality at origin, or advanced material flows through transportation networks.

* U.S. – Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Samsung, Fellowes, Avocent
* Canada – IBM, Kodak, Xerox
