The French recommend that folk visit Les ales de Glénan with 53 per cent of the 1,000 French people interviewed recommending it as a top site. Anyone who’s been to Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy will agree with the 63 per cent of locals who believe it to be the most impressive natural landscape France has to offer.
The Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terre national park came out tops for the Italians whilst down under the Australians assembled a route from Cairns to Perth (that’s one seriously long road trip) picking up all the top sites along the way.
The Ovi Maps team have taken the data gathered by research firm ICM and plotted routes for each of the 12 countries, taking in all the major attractions recommended by locals. Check out the full list, including routes for Spain, Brazil, China, Russia, Singapore, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Of course, this is all hugely relevant now with the progress Ovi Maps has made over the past few months. With millions of users globally now using the service, and additional apps and services constantly being added, the future of location awareness is here right now. Using your device to navigate the best your chosen holiday destination is easier (and, at free, much cheaper) than ever before. Pre-load maps for your chosen destination before you leave and you’ll swerve any foreign data charges. You can also benefit from the additional location aware services and information and of course Michelin and Lonely Planet guides right on your device.
Pedestrian navigation is now available for 74 countries and there are 6,000 3D landmarks covering 200 cities around the world. Ovi Maps itself covers and astonishing 180 countries around the world.
