Nominations for the Sprint Community Champions Program will be accepted between now and Monday, May 17, 2010, at www.sprint.com/communitychampion. The two selected individuals will be notified by early August, and grants in these individuals' names will be awarded to qualifying organizations of their choice by the end of the year.
The Sprint Community Champions Program recognizes one adult and one high-school student who have made positive impacts on the people and organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth community. The Adult Champion will have a $5,000 Sprint Foundation grant donated in his or her name to a qualified non-profit organization of his or her choice. The Youth Champion will have a $2,500 Sprint Foundation grant donated in his or her name to a qualified non-profit organization of his or her choice. Eligible individuals for both the Adult Champion and the Youth Champion must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties). Additional eligibility requirements for the Champions, as well as for the charitable organizations that receive the grants, can be found at www.sprint.com/communitychampion.

Special note for Dallas/Fort Worth non-profits: In 2009, Sprint also supported local charitable organizations with the Sprint Local Grant Program, which provided Sprint Foundation grants to two Dallas/Fort Worth-area organizations to help fund programs supporting Sprint's charitable focus areas of youth development, arts and culture, and environment stewardship. The Sprint Local Grant Program will return in 2010; look for more information about this great opportunity for your organization in May.
