AT&T Delivers Interactive Entertainment, Prizes, Chances to Meet Legends and More as Fans Head to Indianapolis and San Antonio to Witness History.
As NCAA® March Madness® continues to keep fans on their toes and the surviving teams gear up to compete for the enviable title of national college basketball champions, AT&T* today announced its entertainment lineup and activities to keep the excitement blazing during the 2010 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Final Four.
Fanfare in Indianapolis
Between Thursday, April 1 and Monday, April 5 at Bracket Town™ Refreshed by Coca-Cola Zero™, held at the Indiana Convention Center, AT&T will get fans into the competitive spirit for the 2010 NCAA Men’s Final Four with a full lineup of entertainment at the AT&T Fan Zone.
There, AT&T will present special autograph sessions featuring past and present coaches between Friday and Sunday.
On Saturday, April 3, AT&T will present GRAMMY® nominated rapper Fabolous for the highly-anticipated concert in Bracket Town’s Spalding Arena at 3 p.m. Eastern Time, free with paid admission to Bracket Town™. After the performance, from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., Fabolous will be available for autographs.
And on Monday, AT&T will host an athlete autograph session, giving fans the chance to meet college basketball legends including:
* Kevin McHale - 12:30 p.m.
* Tyler Hansbrough – 2:00 p.m.
* Bob McAdoo – 3:30 p.m.
AT&T will also welcome members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis and the Martin Luther King Community Center by providing free admission to Bracket Town™, preferred seating at the afternoon’s concert, access to the Fabolous autograph session and an AT&T gift bag.
Throughout the weekend, AT&T will offer even more exciting ways to keep connected to the game at the AT&T Fan Zone, including a number of interactive experiences, including the chance to win prizes with basketball-themed trivia, games for the Web and wireless devices, photo opportunities with the Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T and much, much more. Demonstrations of AT&T Mobile TV, AT&T Radio and the latest handsets and netbooks will also be available.
Festivities in San Antonio
Down south in San Antonio, between Friday, April 2 and Sunday, April 4, fans can take advantage of the free fun at Tourney Town Refreshed by Coca-Cola Zero™ at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, where fans can sample the latest AT&T offerings and take part in games, contests, giveaways and much more at the AT&T Fan Zone area.
There, fans will also have the opportunity to snag autographs from retired and current NCAA coaches.
And during the Mascot Challenge in Tourney Town on Saturday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m., Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio members will participate alongside college team mascots in a variety of competitive games. AT&T will make a donation to the winning team for their club, and the winning mascot will receive a check to go towards its school.
All weekend long, fans can stay connected to the happenings around the 2010 NCAA Women’s Final Four by texting** GAME to 21234 to receive exclusive text updates, news and alerts. AT&T customers and customers of most major wireless providers may participate.
The Big Dance, AT&T Block Party, AT&T 3G Experience
In Indianapolis, AT&T will hit a high note with fans during The Big Dance® Concert Series – the NCAA’s free three-day music and entertainment festival held in downtown Indianapolis’ White River State Park, April 2 – 4.
On Friday, AT&T will kick off the AT&T Block Party at 4 p.m., where iconic rock band, Stone Temple Pilots, will perform on the main stage at 9 p.m. As one of the multi-platinum band’s first performances in nearly 10 years, Stone Temple Pilots will debut songs off its new self-titled collection, “STONE TEMPLE PILOTS,” which will drop around the globe on May 25. The band has had 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten and sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.
As fans enjoy live music, they will also get a sneak preview of the four finalists eligible to win the 2010 Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year Trophy presented by AT&T. The finalists will be presented and interviewed on-stage. Guests will be encouraged to text-message questions to the players, to be answered by them during the Naismith Preview Show. Appearances are subject to athlete availability.
AT&T wireless customers — and sports fans on other wireless networks — will have one last chance to text their votes for the player of their choice by texting** VOTE to 345345. Fans will be eligible to cast their vote for the winner until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Standard messaging rates apply. Fans are allowed one vote per wireless number.
And, in The Big Dance festival area, fans can also charge up and wind down at the AT&T 3G Experience area, where they can enjoy the latest wireless technology and basketball-themed games. Fans can also choose from four different commemorative backdrops at the Green Screen Photo area to “pose alongside” artists performing during Final Four weekend.
