~ For the Second Year, Cricket Employees Tackle Community Improvements Nationwide~

SAN DIEGO – On April 24th, National Rebuilding Day, Cricket employees in 14 cities put on hardhats and took up hammers to make a difference in their communities. For the second year in a row, Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless service, and Rebuilding Together joined forces to help low-income residents with crucial home repairs. National Rebuilding day is the first of Cricket’s three rebuilding efforts that by the end of 2010 will have resulted in activities in more than 60 cities throughout the country. As a top sponsor of Rebuilding Together, Cricket helps sustain the leading non-profit’s work of preserving affordable home-ownership for low-income homeowners and ensuring strong communities in these most challenging economic periods.

In activities associated with National Rebuilding Day, Cricket employees in 14 cities, from Charleston, SC to Spokane, WA between donated their time and energy to repair and restore homes, revitalize communities and lend a helping hand to their neighbors. Additionally, Cricket donated cash, advertising in the form of public service announcements and Cricket products and services.

Cricket’s rebuilding efforts will continue throughout the summer and conclude this fall when Cricket hosts a five-city tour with high-impact projects in Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, San Diego, Washington, D.C. and St. Louis. Through this effort, Cricket employees, along with their friends and families, will tackle necessary repairs, modifications and updates on individual homes and large-scale beautification and community-wide renovation projects.

“Cricket is again proud to be a part of Rebuilding Together’s efforts to help strengthen and sustain our communities. It is an honor to give back to so many residents and it’s especially gratifying to see the smiles and tears of joy on their faces when they see the improvements to their homes,” said Doug Hutcheson, president and CEO of Leap Wireless International, Cricket’s parent company. “Home ownership is vitally important to our country and we are delighted to help these families, and many other homeowners like them across the country.”

Gary A. Officer, President and CEO of Rebuilding Together, added: “In today’s economy, many low income homeowners who are elderly, disabled or have families with children are forced to choose between vital necessities and essential home repairs. Rebuilding Together is grateful for Cricket’s commitment to our communities and the homeowners who sustain them.”
