AT&T* announced that it has been honored with the Frost & Sullivan 2009 Video Company of the Year Award. AT&T was selected to receive the award based on the successful customer growth, innovation and value for its AT&T U-verseSM TV service.
According to Frost & Sullivan, AT&T consistently ranked as the market leader in growth strategy and implementation, degree of innovation in products and technologies, and leadership in customer value and market penetration. Frost & Sullivan is a leading analyst firm that analyzes new market research and growth opportunities for the technology industry.
In 2009, AT&T added 1 million U-verse TV customers, totaling 2.1 million U-verse TV customers in service. AT&T expanded the availability of its U-verse Voice service, giving every AT&T U-verse customer access to a full quad-play of integrated TV, broadband, home phone and AT&T wireless services. AT&T also introduced 13 interactive U-verse TV applications to customers at no extra charge, including the award-winning Multiview app which lets you watch up to four channels at one time.
“We’ve built U-verse TV around innovation and value, and we’re extremely proud to get recognized in these areas by Frost & Sullivan,” said Jeff Weber, AT&T vice president of video products. “AT&T U-verse has always been about delivering a new and better TV choice, and in addition to the response we’re getting from customers, this award further validates that we’re on the right track.”
Frost & Sullivan’s Video Company of the Year Award recognizes the company that has significant customer growth, an innovative video network and service, and delivers customer value by offering service bundles that consumers want.
“The Company of the Year award is a prestigious recognition of AT&T’s accomplishments in the video industry,” said Mike Jude, Ph.D., Program Manager, Stratecast (a division of Frost & Sullivan). “AT&T places considerable attention on the customer service and value proposition it delivers to U-verse TV customers, and has done an excellent job in delivering innovative services and features that today’s consumers want.”
The Frost & Sullivan 2009 Company of the Year Award is the latest accolade for AT&T U-verse. For the second year in a row, AT&T U-verse TV ranked “Highest in Residential Television Service Satisfaction in the South and West Regions,” according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 and 2009 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudiesSM. The U-verse TV Multiview app was also awarded the 2009 TelcoTV Vision Award for Service Provider Innovation.
AT&T U-verse TV is the only 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service offered by a national service provider, making AT&T U-verse one of the most dynamic and feature-rich services available today.
