The "8086" value-added service offers download of wallpapers and ring tones, online interactive games, entertainment, information on social networks as well as interactive short messages through cooperation with mobile telecom carriers, while the "55155" free service allows search for information on retail stores or other points of interest, plus inquiries through messaging or voice calls, Interchan said.
Advertising placed in the service items is the main source of revenues, Interchan noted.
Interchan also operates in Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, with a total of 16 million users, the company said, adding the number is expected to increase to 30 million by the end of 2010.
