Sprint Local Grant Program to Award $25,000 Grants to Organizations Making a Difference in the Dallas/Fort Worth Community Tweet

Two winners to be selected; local eligible non-profit organizations encouraged to apply at www.sprint.com/localgiving between June 15 and July 30.

DALLAS --Sprint (NYSE:S) announced that it will recognize two Dallas/Fort Worth non-profit organizations that are making differences in the community through the 2010 Sprint Local Grant Program. Now in its second year, the program provides $25,000 Sprint Foundation grants to two Dallas/Fort Worth 501(c)3 organizations to support programs that provide a meaningful impact in Sprint's philanthropic focus areas of youth development (including mentoring, leadership and academic achievement), arts and culture, and environmental stewardship.

Nominations for the Sprint Local Grant Program will be accepted between 9 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, June 15, and 5 p.m. CDT on Friday, July 30, at www.sprint.com/localgiving. The two selected organizations will be notified by mid September, and the grants will be awarded by the end of the year. Eligible organizations must be located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise Counties). In 2009, Sprint awarded $25,000 Sprint Foundation grants to Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas and Junior Achievement of Dallas and Junior Achievement of Fort Worth through the Sprint Local Grant Program.
