Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Flexible PCB (FPCB) makers have seen their order visibility extend from 4-6 weeks to more than seven weeks thanks to strong sales of smartphones, according to industry sources.

Sales of FPCBs at Taiwan-based Ichia Technologies totaled NT$408 million (US$12.86 million) in March 2010, an increase of 63.9% from the previous month, said the company.

Including sales of handset keypads, Ichia posted consolidated revenues of NT$657 million for March, representing a 50% sequential growth, company data showed.

FPCB maker Career Technology has seen its capacity utilization rate resume to 80% recently, the sources said.
