Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) plans to procure two million handset in 2010, with 600,000 units, 30%, to be smartphones, according to company chairman Lu Shyue-ching.
CHT procured 1.8 million handsets in 2009, with purchases of smartphones totaling 270,000 units or 15%. CHT plans to add more inexpensive smartphones to its lineup to appeal to young customers in 2010, CHT pointed out.
