Samsung Introduces New Enterprise Mobility Solutions at Mobile World Congress

Partnering with Cisco, Formotus, MicrosoftSpring Wireless, Sybase, and Wipro, Samsung showcases enterprise solutions running on Samsung smartphones.

Barcelona, Spain - Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, today introduced a range of new enterprise mobility solutions at Mobile World Congress 2010, demonstrating its strong commitment in the enterprise mobility market. Samsung enterprise solutions, delivered in collaboration with leading partners, encompass key mobile enterprise solutions such as Enterprise Email, Enterprise IM, Security, MDM (Mobile Device Management), UC (Unified Communications), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), SFA (Sales Force Automation), BI (Business Intelligence) and vertical applications.

Samsung is actively discussing with major mobile operators to commercially launch the solutions in 2010. Most of the enterprise solutions showcased at MWC are expected to be commercially available by end of 2010.

The Samsung Enterprise Mobility Offering comprises a suite of solutions & devices specifically targeted to the needs of the enterprise customers. Samsung smartphones support the most robust enterprise solutions on Microsoft Windows Mobile, and soon offer enterprise solutions on Android platform. Samsung will expand the capability to offer enterprise solutions on LiMo as well as bada, its own platform in 2011, giving enterprise customers both the choice and flexibility they want.

In recent months, Samsung has greatly expanded its channel support structure with major carriers’ enterprise sales teams and has built strong relationships with premium solution partners such as Cisco, Formotus, Microsoft, Spring Wireless, Sybase, and Wipro. Samsung will continue to expand its collaboration model with major enterprise players such as Oracle, SAP and IBM in coming months. The details of each enterprise mobility solution available are as follows:

Cisco
At Mobile World Congress, Samsung and Cisco will demonstrate several prototype solutions that will be available in 2010 that enhance the mobile worker experience with embedded collaboration and security solutions.

Mobile web conferencing via Cisco WebEx solutions – It’s easier than ever before to collaborate in a WebEx meeting with unique Samsung-optimized features. With a single click, users can escalate a phone call to a Cisco WebEx Meeting Center meeting and launch it directly from e-mail or calendar invites from select Samsung smartphones.

Enhanced collaboration through Cisco Unified Communications – The Cisco mobile UC solution enhances collaboration by helping enable a mobile workforce to make calls via the corporate infrastructure, and giving mobile workers access to UC features, such as visual voicemail and unified presence capabilities which shows contacts’ availability status. This solution delivers improved connectivity and productivity to the mobile workforce while simultaneously reducing the enterprise’s mobile spend by extending the corporate unified communications network to Samsung smartphone users.

Formotus
Formotus extends SharePoint business productivity to people in the field by allowing mobile business forms designed just once to be used online or offline on all kinds of devices, including the new Android-powered and Windows phones from Samsung.

Formotus mobile apps put the new Samsung phones to work for business by creating solutions that capture touchscreen signatures, camera photos, and GPS locations, all of which can be submitted back to the office in forms that integrate with SharePoint and company workflows.
