U.S. CELLULAR'S BOLINGBROOK CUSTOMER CARE CENTER LOOKING TO HIRE MULTILINGUAL ASSOCIATES

Friday, May 28, 2010

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — U.S. Cellular, the nation's sixth-largest wireless carrier, is looking to hire 12 multilingual customer service representatives in its Bolingbrook Customer Care Center within the next month.

"We have a talented workforce in Bolingbrook and appreciate whenever companies provide rewarding careers for our residents," said Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar. "I've visited the Customer Care Center many times and witnessed first hand the positive, customer-focused atmosphere U.S. Cellular has created for their associates."

U.S. Cellular is looking for bilingual candidates with strong customer service, sales and problem-solving skills. Prior customer experience is desired. Positions come with the opportunity to advance professionally and great benefits, including full tuition reimbursement and a generous health insurance package from the first day on the job.

"We are always looking for candidates who are passionate about serving customers," said Rudel DeCastro, director of the Bolingbrook Customer Care Center. "We believe the most important people in our company are those who work directly with our customers. This is a fantastic opportunity, whether you are fresh out of school, recently laid off or just looking for a career change."

The Bolingbrook Customer Care Center employs 450 associates from the greater Chicago area in a variety of positions. The customer care center is one of U.S. Cellular's five centers nationwide that manage two million customer service calls per month and is one of the company's two multilingual centers.

Customer Care Center associates receive seven weeks of paid classroom instruction before answering customer calls and continue with professional development as they grow in the organization. This ongoing instruction builds leaders and helps associates deliver the best customer satisfaction in the industry.

This culture drives U.S. Cellular to be more than just a phone company. Associates give back to their communities through volunteerism and are given resources to locate, sign up for and track their volunteer projects. The company also matches associates' donations to nonprofit organizations dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500 each year. Last year U.S. Cellular associates in Illinois volunteered 8,225 hours and since 2009 the company has contributed $665,078 to schools in Illinois as part of its commitment to education.

Candidates who are passionate about serving customers and looking to start to further their careers should visit www.uscellular.jobs to apply.
