Friday, May 21, 2010

HTC Android has a high-end device with physical QWERTY keyboard in development. The device has yet codenamed Vision, but will probably have a different name if it's in the shops.

HTC Vision

The HTC Vision has a screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, according to the device profile Tweakers.net into his hands. There is in addition to the physical presence of the qwerty keyboard is not much to do from the profile, which is almost identical to that of the HTC Desire. The Vision will run on Android, though not to the version that will be. Probably the 2.1 or 2.2, depending on when the power suits.

The code name of the device came up in a screenshot of an internal page on the site of HTC. Other code names in the screensot be seen, its LED and Glacier. Nothing is known about these devices.

It is unlikely that the Vision will be released under that name: in the vast majority of cases, the HTC device a different name than selling the code name. For some devices, like the Legend, was the code name does match the name by which the unit is eventually sold.

HTC is planning on Android phones with a physical keyboard out, they said HTC Benelux director Mark Moons this week at Tweakers.net. "Since the HTC Touch Pro2 we do not have phones with physical keyboards more delivered. There are, however, weather models with physical keyboard, with Android."

In the Netherlands just released HTC Android phone with a physical keyboard: the G1 only by T-Mobile for sale. Other manufacturers do have Android smartphones with physical QWERTY keyboard announced or released, so it came to the In Touch GW620 LG, Motorola Milestone and Sony Ericsson will launch the X10 Pro Mini.
