LG Arena Max: Snapdragon feature phone spotted!

Saturday, February 20, 2010

The LG Arena Max has just been sighted in the wild, a week ahead of Mobile Worlc Congress. It’s not packing Android like the LG GW620, but under the hood is the super fast Qualcomm Snapdragon processor stuffed inside all the top smartphones, and a lot more besides.

The LG Arena Max has just popped up in a surprisingly non-blurry in the flesh shot online, sporting a 3.5-inch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, as well as a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, as seen in the HTC HD2 and Google Nexus One phones, according to Asian site Cetizen. A five megapixel camera is also reportedly on board.

LG Arena unboxed!
It’s unclear from the shot what OS the LG Arena Max is running, but the name puts it as a direct sequel to the beautiful but dumb LG Arena touchscreen phone from last year, so we’d expect this to focus on playing videos smoothly and not much else.

There’s no word of an official release date for the LG Arena Max just yet, but with the world’s biggest phone show kicking off next week, we’d take a punt on it showing up there. We’ll be there to greet it if it does.
