Qualcomm MEMS mirasol reflective light screen demonstration

Monday, April 12, 2010

Today we hooked up with the Taiwan PR people for Qualcomm in Taipei and got a look an upcoming prototype device from Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, that uses its impressive direct-view MEMS display mirasol display technology for mobile devices.

Qualcomm says that the technology inspiration is learned from natures own butterfly wings. They say that, the complex structure on butterfly winds can reflect light so that specific wavelengths interfere with each other to generate the purest and most vibrant color in the natural world. This is set to be the basic description of Qualcomms mirasol display. Distributed by Tubemogul.
