Android one finger zoom tutorial – Part 1

Thursday, May 20, 2010

The UI software development team at Sony Ericsson is preparing a set of tutorials so that your apps can have the same rich and fast user interface as the built-in apps on the XPERIA™ X10 mini.

The first tutorial is now available on our Developer Blog. It shows you how to make your own one finger zoom control like the one found in the Camera and Album applications in the XPERIA™ X10 mini. The one finger zoom tutorial has four parts:

* Part 1 shows you how to make a basic, interactive, zoom control that allows you to zoom into an image.
* Part 2 adds logic for controls, such as zoom and drag
* Part 3 discusses input methods and screen size
* Part 4 looks at dynamics, usability and enhancing the user experience.

The tutorials include video demos, source code and everything you need. You can leave questions and comments on the blog and swap ideas.
