Mobihome launches mobile VoIP service over Android Market

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Taiwan-based mobile VoIP service provider Mobihome has released a set of Chinese-language software, dubbed CherryMe, enabling mobile VoIP services on Android devices.

Mobihome said it developed the software application in cooperation with the Networks and Multimedia Institute under the Institute for Information Industry (III).

CherryMe works through 3G, 3.5G, Wi-Fi and WiMAX networks, allowing free VoIP talks between users of the software, Mobihome said, adding that for a CherryMe voice call to a mobile phone or fixed-line number, rates are lower than calls sent from a mobile phone number.

Mobihome said it will soon offer another CherryMe version based on Windows Mobile.
