Monday, May 17, 2010

Small-size LCD driver IC supplier Sitronix Technology has declined to comment on a recent Chinese-language Commercial Times report indicating it has landed orders from Samsung Electronics for handset-use driver IC citing customer confidentiality, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

According to the Commercial Times, Sitronix began shipping handset-use LCD driver ICs in small volume to Samsung in February. Its shipments to Samsung will grow substantially at the end of the second quarter. Sitronix is expected to enjoy a revenue growth sequentially in the second quarter.

Sitronix has reported revenues of NT$472 million (US$14.8 million) for April, the highest since August 2009. Revenues for the first fourth months of 2010 totaled NT$1.78 billion, a 34.3% rise from a year earlier.
