Peppermint OS is based on (and is compatible with) Ubuntu 10.04 and it’s repositories. Specifically, Peppermint OS is a fork of Lubuntu. Please check the release notes for both Ubuntu and Lubuntu.

Known issues:

* The application used to create Prism applications downloads standard favicons to use as menu and window icons for the application. If a website does not have a standard favicon then a generic script icon will be used instead.
* Options for automatic login have been removed. This feature has consistently been buggy and often not worked at all.
* Selecting “Software Sources” in the Software Manager can occasionally cause the window to temporarily crash. It is recommended that you use Software Sources in the Preferences menu.
* Selecting “Properties” in the right click menu in PCManFM while in “Trash” or “Applications” has been known to cause occasional segmentation faults.
* If you open the File Manager with Root privileges make sure you close the File Manager before you Log Out or End your Session in any way. Doing so will cause a segmentation fault that will prevent you from opening the File Manager with Root privileges from that point forward. This is a known issue that is currently being addressed in a future Peppermint update
