He will report to Jay Gould, Huntington's senior vice president and director of investor relations, who was recently named as one of the best investor relations directors in the country by Institutional Investor magazine's "U.S. Investor Relations" rankings for mid-cap banks.

"His five years as an equity analyst at Fidelity Management and Research, including two as its regional bank analyst, adds a wealth of hands-on experience regarding how investors view and make stock selection decisions. At Fidelity, Beekman served as an international small cap equity analyst charged with targeting investment opportunities within the financial sector in Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. As a Fidelity domestic analyst, he concentrated on bank stocks.
Prior to joining Fidelity, he was a technical marketing manager for Freescale Semiconductors Inc., formerly Motorola. He also worked there as a strategic marketing consultant and engineer.

Beekman earned a master's in business administration from Georgetown University with a concentration in finance and strategy. His bachelor's is from Ohio University in electrical engineering.
