Sony Ericsson announces X8, Yendo and Cedar

Software upgrade to X10 series will allow HD video and wireless connection to TVs.

Sony Ericsson has launched a ‘suite’ of handsets as it looks to enhance its entertainment offering.

The Xperia X8, Yendo with Walkman and GreenHeart handset Sony Ericsson Cedar will launch in quarter 4.

Meanwhile, the Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro will receive software upgrades to run on Android 2.1 from Q3 onwards.

The X10 upgrade will add HD video recording in Q3 and by Q4 it will be enabled to wirelessly connect to and display content on a television.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia X8 comes with Timescape, human curvature and four corner control as standard. It has a three-inch screen and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Sony Ericsson Yendo with Walkman is the first full touch Walkman phone. Yendo combines four corner UI with the Walkman phone experience on a 2.6-inch screen.

Sony Ericsson Cedar joins the GreenHeart set of handsets. The ‘affordable’ phone comes with 'green' credentials,and has features such as 3G HSDPA, a Widget Manager 2.0, a 3.5mm jack and port for connection to a laptop.
