Verizon ready to drop the Motorola Droid X on July 19th

Android fans waiting on the next superphone will be pleased to hear that the Motorola Droid X should be launching on Verizon come July 19th. This launch date is only a rumor at this point, but it comes from Droid Life who has supplied a lot of the leaked Droid X pictures recently.

We have already seen a printed manual for the Droid X and previous speculation placed the device coming in July, so we think this info is quite believable. Droid Life reports that Verizon employees are placing t-shirt orders for the launch and are scheduled to open early come July 19th.

The Droid X will run Android 2.1 at launch, feature a 1 GHz processor (OMAP3630), and a giant sized 4.3 inch display. We can’t wait to get our hands on the device, but we already anticipate it will be the fastest Android phone in terms of raw CPU power.

No price point has been announced, but I would expect the Droid X to go for $199 with 2-yr contract and $500-550 off-contract. Do we have any takers?
