RT-RK Delivers IP Solution for Android Devices - Porting Android on DTVs and STBs

Novi Sad, Serbia – RT-RK, a leading provider of embedded system design and system software development in the field of consumer electronics, announced successful porting of a big-endian version of the Android™ platform for the MIPS® architecture. This achievement is a milestone in Android on MIPS proliferation. Companies can now leverage the power of Android for both big-endian and little-endian versions of MIPS processors for their SoCs targeting devices such as digital TVs (DTVs), set-top boxes (STBs) and a range of other applications in the digital home and beyond.

The big-endian version of Android is available immediately and includes support for select MIPS-Based™ platforms.

The source code will be publicly available on www.mipsandroid.org.

Porting services for Android on DTVs and STBs will be available from RT-RK for other MIPS-Based platforms within the next 60 days.
