AOSON MID M500, New Chinese 3G MID with ANDROID

Aoson a Chinese manufacturer based in Shenzhen which is famous for his clones has unveiled a new MID ordiphone running Android OS.

The Aoson M500 is very elegant and the design furiously remind us the famous lines of Nokia N97. At the front of the unit there are 4 direct access buttons, a joystick, a microphone and a speaker. At the back Aoson implemented a footstand to hold the device.

The M500 has a 5-inch resistive touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 and you can use the integrated stylus to avoid fingerprints. It adopts the famous operating system Android, and is powered by a Marvell PXA 303-624 MHz. According to the manufacturer, it is possible to install Windows 98, 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, 7, Mac 9.1 and Linux 2.4 in oder to satisfy multi-boot amateur. The processor is supported by 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM. And of course, there is a SD slot to expand storage capacity.


The M500 has a full Internet connectivity as it features a 3G (WCDMA, EVDO) and a WiFi module, plus a GPS chip. Aoson announced that its MID can play HD videos up to 720p and has a HDMI output. Finally, it measures 152 x 83 x 16.5mm, has a G-sensor and its battery of 2500mAh offers an autonomy of 4 hours. It is now available in China for a price of $265.
