CDG Recognizes Huawei with 2010 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award at 2010 CDMA World Forum

Award recognizes Huawei' s significant and consistent contributions and innovations to CDMA2000 Eco-system.

Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, announced that it has won the 2010 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award for Network Technology Innovation presented by the CDMA Development Group (CDG) at the second annual CDMA World Forum in Shanghai in recognition of its consistent contributions and innovations in CDMA technology.

The 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Awards are presented annually by the CDG to honor businesses and individuals making notable contributions to wireless technology in technical innovation, standards development, consumer entertainment services, or enterprise solutions over the prior year. Final selection of the winners was made by senior CDG executive members as well as representatives of industry associations and the trade media community.

"The CDG congratulates Huawei on winning the 2010 3G CDMA Industry Achievement Award for Network Technology Innovation," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDMA Development Group (CDG). "Huawei has demonstrated its commitment to CDMA2000® through impressive research and development over the years, and its most recent accomplishments with EV-DO Rev. B and LTE continue that tradition of excellence and innovation."

Zhao Ming, President of Global Wireless Network Solution Sales Department, Huawei, received the award and later noted, "Continuous customer-centric innovation is one of Huawei' s core values. We are pleased to be recognized for our pioneering work in CDMA network innovation, our support of CDMA has most recently been highlighted by Huawei' s launch of the world' s first commercially-ready CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision B, the world' s first CDMA LTE multi-mode trial for a US carrier, and by our leading-edge SingleRAN@Broad solution." Mr. Zhao Ming pledged continued commitment to support of CDG and the CDMA eco-system.

Using Huawei' s SingleRAN@Broad solution, COX Communications in North America successfully deployed the world' s first CDMA LTE multi-mode trial in order to manage unprecedented mobile broadband traffic and lower the cost-per-bit, thus enhancing user experience. The successful rollout and operation of the CDMA LTE multi-mode trial provides assurance of CDMA' s viability and future evolutions to LTE.

Huawei is committed to CDMA innovation and continuing its contributions to standards, long-term support and the overall advancement of the global CDMA eco-system. Huawei was first-to-market with its commercially-ready CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Revision B solution, which has been applied by China Telecom in Beijing and Guangzhou. Since it began in 2006, the Huawei-hosted Global CDMA Operation & Development Forum has brought together top CDMA operators and partners from across the industry to discuss the future of CDMA.
