Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Taiwan Mobile, a Taiwan-based 3G service provider, will launch on February 24 an own-brand Android-powered smartphone rolled out by Quanta Computer, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

Taiwan Mobile's Android phone will carry a suggested retail price of below NT$10,000 (US$312), which will be slightly lower than the Commtiva T1 Android phone launched recently by rival Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), the paper noted. The Commtiva T1 smartphones are produced by Foxconn International Holdings (FIH), the paper added.
