Motorola Appoints Mark Shockley Senior Vice President of Global Go-to-Market for Mobile Devices Business

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced that Mark Shockley has been appointed senior vice president, Global Go-to-Market for Motorola’s Mobile Devices business, effective immediately. Mr. Shockley will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Motorola’s Mobile Devices sales operations globally. He will report to Sanjay Jha, Co-CEO, Motorola, Inc. and CEO of Motorola’s Mobile Devices and Home Business.

“With over 20 years of successfully leading teams across various Motorola businesses in Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and North America, Mark is uniquely qualified to lead our Global Go-to-Market organization,” said Dr. Jha. “Mark brings extensive sales, market and business experience, proven leadership abilities, and in-depth customer knowledge and carrier expertise to his new role. We are confident in his ability to execute on our business objectives.”

Mr. Shockley joined Motorola in 1979 and has served the Company in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager for the Americas Region Go-to-Market for Motorola’s Mobile Devices organization, where he was responsible for the financial performance and customer relationships of the Americas Region’s handset business, including carrier, retail, online, and alternative distribution channels. Prior to that, Mr. Shockley served as corporate vice president and general manager, East Asia Mobile Devices, where he assumed responsibility for all facets of the Mobile Devices business, subsidiary operations, and services. Mr. Shockley has also held several other senior product group leadership positions, including vice president of the product team responsible for Motorola’s Microsoft devices and Motorola’s initial efforts in Wi-Fi enterprise solutions. Additionally, Mr. Shockley has held leadership positions in sales, marketing, international operations, product management, and business operations.

Mr. Shockley holds a degree in business administration from Ohio State University.

Motorola also announced that today Frank Meng has been appointed corporate vice president and president, Greater China for the Mobile Devices business, effective immediately. Mr. Meng will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Motorola’s Mobile Devices business and sales operations for China, Hong Kong and Tawian, and will report to Mr. Shockley. Mr. Meng brings over 25 years of telecom experience to Motorola. He joins Motorola from Qualcomm Inc.’s Beijing, China operations where he held several positions since 2002, most recently serving as corporate senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Greater China.
