Monday, April 19, 2010

AT&T’s* wireless company, AT&T Mobility LLC, has reached a tentative agreement with the Communications Workers of America on a collective bargaining agreement for about 11,200 wireless employees covered by the Mobility Southeast labor contract.

The agreement was reached on April 16 – prior to expiration of the prior contract at 11:59 p.m. that night.

The employees are in CWA District 3, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

The four-year proposed agreement between the CWA and AT&T Mobility includes traditional work rules and wages only. It includes pay increases in each year of the offer, with resulting pension increases for the majority of employees. Compounded wage increase over the four-year term of the agreement is more than 10 percent. Health care coverage was not among the issues negotiated in the agreement -- it is separately addressed covering all CWA-represented AT&T Mobility employees.

During the coming days and weeks, the CWA will submit the agreement to its members for a ratification vote.
