Operator MTS reported that the consolidated number of subscribers of company for state on March 31, 2010 composed 97,81 million users. As noted director “MTS Russia” Alexander [Popovskiy], in March taking into account seasonality the level of general connections MTS was above average quarterly, in this case in comparison with the first quarter of last year the level of general connections in the first quarter of 2010 remained stable. The reduction of user base in Moscow and Saint Petersburg is caused by the writing off of subscribers, who were connected last summer in the course of seasonal marketing actions. Under the conditions of saturating the market MTS it is oriented to an improvement in the quality of user base and optimizes the channels of its sales.
