Orange announces BlackBerry refresh to give mobile email options to all businesses

Friday, May 7, 2010

New plans drive company productivity with secure email access and technical support.

Orange today announced a refresh of its BlackBerry portfolio for business customers, which will bring secure email access within the reach of many more businesses of all sizes. The new BlackBerry plans allow customers to choose the best solution for them based on cost, security and access to technical support from Orange. All of the plans enable businesses to equip their employees with secure and easy access to their email, calendars and applications while on the move, helping them stay productive wherever they are.

The portfolio now includes BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) from £6.38 per month, BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express (BES Express) from £15 per month and BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES)1. The full BES solution from Orange offers advanced security benefits and a full suite of BlackBerry monitoring services, while the new BES Express plans provide a more affordable service to customers with the good security levels and the same technical support from Orange as full BES, but at a price which better suits their needs.

Customers won’t have to worry about implementation charges or complicated set-ups, as the technical support includes IT administrator and help desk training, managed operation support and all the latest BlackBerry network updates. For those businesses with workers out on the road, Over-the-Air email activation of users is also available.

In addition to a choice of BlackBerry plans and pricing, BlackBerry smartphones bought from Orange are the only BlackBerry devices in the UK to come with built-in UMA technology to boost their mobile signal, giving reassurance to businesses with employees working from home that their staff will have a reliable connection2. BlackBerry handsets from Orange also offer Personal Line, a service which provides two separate phone lines on one device. This is ideal when it’s important to keep work and personal calls separate, but a single device is preferable.

“We’re always striving to make the lives of our business customers easier, offering greater flexibility and value for money. Businesses of all sizes need to be flexible and can’t afford for staff to lose time through travel or a weak connection. These new plans are the ideal solution for all types of business. Smaller customers can now have an affordable solution to help them enable mobile working, while larger businesses can offer field or flexible workers secure access to emails, calendars and applications, with full technical support from Orange,” said Anthony Keyworth, Director of Business Products for Orange UK.
