Designed to personalize the guest experience, Pro:Centric technology introduces new ways for hotels to communicate with guests.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Continuing to lead the industry with guest and hotel centric technology, LG Electronics is showcasing its Pro:Centric™ technology, 3D capable TVs and the latest LCD and plasma flat panel displays at the 2010 Hospitality Industry Technology Conference and Exposition (HITEC) in booth #215.

"LG Electronics is providing the hospitality and lodging industry new ways to cater to guests by providing display technology that enhances their stay and brings all the amenities of the property to their fingertips," said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Business Solutions, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "LG's Pro:Centric TVs go beyond sleek flat panel displays with high definition technology, they bring a more immersive and connected experience for the guest and the hotel."

Pro:Centric Applications

Since introducing its Pro:Centric technology, a standards-based applications platform designed to enable hotels to easily communicate up-to-the-minute information, LG has expanded the technology on several new HDTV series with the LD650H and LD320H. Through this technology, guests can book room service, spa services, and golf course schedules at the touch of the remote (interactive feature not available in commercial lite LD320H series).

Hoteliers can now customize the entire in-room experience providing guests with an Electronic Interactive Program Guide with advanced channel search and selection capabilities. Additionally, hoteliers can customize the welcome menu with unique authoring tools and java enabled technologies which allow for easy, branded information sharing.

Beyond guest-centric technologies, Pro:Centric also provides a cost-effective way for hotels to deliver uniform services and features across both RF (radio frequency) and IP (Internet protocol) based networks.

Both new Pro:Centric series support Java and Flash applications, extending programming boundaries for hotels including the ability to run highly customized applications or services. With built-in b-LAN™, as well as all other FTG system providers, these Pro:Centric models with Pro:Idiom eliminate the need for an added card to provide this function. Additionally, hoteliers can map channels and clone commercial installer settings for each room's display when b-LAN is connected to LG's centralized, head-end FMA-LG101 system. Both models also incorporate Pro:Idiom, the de facto standard digital rights management system that assures the availability of high-value HD content in hospitality settings.

Both LCD HDTV models are also ENERGY STAR® 4.1 qualified and RoHS compliant. For versatility and excellent picture quality, the LD650H series is available in a 32-, 37-, 42-, 47- and 55-inch class sizes* and displays content in full 1080p HD (32-inch class displays are 720p) with a 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio for a clean, crisp picture. The LD320H is available in 26-, 32-, 37- and 42-inch class sizes* and incorporates the same picture quality specifications (26- and 32-inch class displays are 720p).

Stylish Flat Panel Entertainment

LG has several new series of LED, LCD and plasma TVs for in-room entertainment options. Headlining these new series is the LE540C, which incorporates LED backlighting, providing deeper black level and more vibrant colors for a crisper picture. Available in 42- and 55-inch class sizes*, the LE540C has a 1080p screen resolution which provides guests with a full high-definition experience for optimum viewing of HD content in the room or suite.

For larger HDTV options, LG also has the 50- and 60-inch class size* PK550C plasma. This plasma model is a perfect complement for any suite or lobby as it incorporates Full HD 1080p resolution and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Other features on this model include Smart Energy Savings which allows hoteliers to set energy consumption level and Intelligent Sensor which automatically adjusts picture brightness based on the amount of light in the room, saving energy.

For hoteliers looking to upgrade their CRTs to standard CCFL LCD HDTVs, LG has the LD450 series, available in 37-, 42-, and 47-inch class sizes*. This LCD provides hoteliers a variety of size options for the room and excellent picture with Full HD 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate for crisp moving content. This model also includes Dynamic Power Savings which adjust the brightness level settings based on the incoming video, helping facilities save on energy costs and allowing for increased energy savings while still providing superior picture quality to guests. Also included is the Static Power Savings setting which allows the installer to set the preferred power consumption level.

Creating Connections with Remote Jack Packs

Beyond TVs, LG's Remote Jack Packs (RJPs) allow business travelers to multi-task on laptops and MP3 players while enjoying in-room entertainment on LG's compatible flat-panel TV. With a single cable connection to the back, these units allow for a variety of mount options (desk back splash, wall mount, desk or table top) so hoteliers don't have to worry about cluttering the room decor. Some of the newest models on display include the RJP-201M and RJP-401W. These models allow hotel guests the ability to connect their personal A/V devices to the TV for easy photo viewing, e-mail checking and more – all while watching TV. Additionally, these two models feature iPod docking, adding more entertainment options then earlier models.

3D for the Future

LG is showcasing 3D capable displays, which stand to become the future of hospitality and lodging in-room entertainment. LG's 3D TVs will blend a sleek design with 3D capabilities that will allow guests to enjoy 3D entertainment as if they were at the movies.
