'Samsung working on Android phones with 2:1 screen

Samsung working on Android smartphone with a 2:1 screen. According to a profile on the Samsung site. The new device seems to be a budget model and would support a screen resolution of 480x240 pixels.

The model number of the device, i5801, suggests that it is a successor of the Samsung Galaxy Spica, which is i5700 and serial number. The device operates alongside the 480x240 screen on GPRS and WiFi. UMTS or even supported, is not yet clear.

Android since version 1.6 supports more screen resolutions than 320x480 pixels, the resolution of the scenes include the HTC Galaxy Hero and Spica. Since then, devices appeared with resolutions of 320x240 and 854x480 pixels. A smartphone with a resolution of 480x240 pixels has not previously surfaced. The aspect ratio, 2:1, has not previously been used in an Android device.

The Korean manufacturer has so far been slow to bring new Android phones out. In September last year appeared I7500 Galaxy in the Netherlands, a few months later, the Galaxy i5700 Spica. On U.S. stock CTIA Wireless announced the Samsung i9000 to S Galaxy. This is Samsung's own Android smartphone Cortex A8-1GHz chip and a 4 "Super AMOLED screen.
