Stolen HTC Wildfire prototype shows up on Marketplace

In a break with HTC Netherlands, early this month a new Wildfire stolen. The device demonstrated for some days to be offered on Marketplace. The description can be concluded that it is a prototype.

The Wildfire was recently announced by HTC and features a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor with a clock speed of 528MHz. Although the unit has not officially been introduced in the Netherlands, there is already a copy on Marketplace offered.

HTC prototype Wildfire Marketplace on the advertisement was placed on May 25 and now over five hundred times. From the - fuzzy - in the ad photos can be seen that the conscious design features a trackball. This is remarkable because the consumer version of the Wildfire does not have a trackball.

Enquiries from HTC confirms the Android device a prototype, which previously had a break in the Dutch office has been stolen. In that burglary were also some HD2's included. Whether there are other time prototypes are stolen, HTC will not say. The manufacturer would like to say that the police theft report was made. It is not known whether HTC response to the advertisement has included contact with Marketplace.

The Wildfire is from July in the Netherlands for sale for 259 euros. Apart from the Qualcomm processor, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. Additionally, 384MB RAM and 512MB storage memory. The screen has a diagonal of 3.2 "and a resolution of 320x240 pixels. It also has GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and UMTS with HSDPA on board.
